About the Ambassador Program<\/h3>\n

Ambassadors will serve as Market volunteers – helping visitors navigate the Market, along with sharing what they know and love about both Reading Terminal and Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

How to become an Ambassador<\/h3>\n

Once you\u2019ve applied online – you will hear back from our program coordinator to learn more about the program structure and volunteer scheduling process.<\/p>\n

Are there specific requirements?<\/h3>\n

No! We welcome anyone from Philadelphia and the tri-state area.<\/p>\n

Any age and all walks of life are welcome!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As a Reading Terminal Market Ambassador, volunteer activities include but are not limited to:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • \n
    Warmly greeting visitors and answering questions about the Market\u2019s history, Merchants, and offerings.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Providing accurate, up-to-date information on Merchant products, food options, and special events.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Helping guests explore the Market\u2019s diversity, including details on various food types and artisan goods.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Guiding visitors through the layout, highlighting areas such as\u00a0restrooms and eating zones.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Scheduling and Assignments:<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • \n
      Currently, Ambassadors are on-site 4 days a week, i.e., Thursday through Sunday – with the intention to\u00a0have volunteers on-site 7 days a week by Winter 2025.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      Ambassadors cover the peak times of the day in 2 to 3 hour shifts.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      Once fully onboarded, there is an electronic scheduling process for the volunteer shifts.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      During your time on the Market floor you will be posted in RTM’s Center Court or the Welcome Center (Information Desk on 12th Street).<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Volunteer Expectations:<\/h3>\n

      • \n
        To volunteer at least one shift a month (3 hours).<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
      • \n
        Become knowledgeable about the history of the Reading Terminal Market and the Merchants.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
      • \n
        Comfort working in a busy urban environment.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
      • \n
        Friendly demeanor.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
      • \n
        Complete the training requirements for the Ambassador Volunteer role.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
      • \n
        A love for the Market and Philadelphia!<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
